The true value of this product is realized when two Matrix Chargers are set one against the other with opposite polarity voltages applied to them. In that configuration, a multilayer material passing between the two Matrix Chargers will be compressed by a very strong electrostatic force generated by the transfer of the ions from the electrodes to the opposite surfaces of the multilayer material, such as paper or plastic. The Matrix Charger’s multi-bar options allow users to spread the total charging current over a larger number of pin electrodes to keep down the current per each electrode and extend the useful life of the charging bars. The model 7430 Bar used in the Matrix Chargers is specially designed for the demands of the heavy duty industrial applications. Its body is made of a fiber-reinforced polymer resin for extra rigidity. Ionizing electrodes in the 7430 bar are connected to the high voltage through resistors to prevent formation of arcs. All internal electrical components are encapsulated in a special resin. Long-lasting tungsten ionizing electrodes are spaced a little over 1/4" or 7 mm. With that spacing the charging current per liner inch is almost 20% higher than at the industry-standard 5-mm pin spacing. A rib at the back of the bar which extends its full length is so strong that it can be used as a structural component for the bar mounting. Cables of the Matrix Chargers plug directly into the output connectors of the charging generators. For the 3-bar Matrix Charger, the connectors at the end of the high voltage cables plug into a splitter device which has three receptacles to match the number of bars. |
